Manchester Music Tour

Commissioned by The Guardian, readers who had won a competition run by the paper, went on a musical tour of Manchester.  First stop, Salford Lads Club to meet Mike Joyce, ex drummer with The Smiths.  A picture of the band outside the club was used as an album cover for The Queen is Dead album and there is a room dedicated to The Smiths in the club.  Next, a private gig with Damon Gough, aka Badly Drawn Boy, at the Britons Protection pub. He played his first gig here.  Then on to the Hacienda, now flats, to meet up with Peter Hook of Joy Division/New Order and on to what was Factory Records and is now run by Peter Hook as a music venue of the same name and a performance by a local band.
