Based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, he is ideally located for editorial assignments, school prospectuses, property, including Matterport 3D virtual tours, conferences, events and shows throughout the North of England and the UK.
Since studying photojournalism at the London College of Printing, Sam has undertaken a wide variety of commissions for national and regional newspapers and magazines, has covered high-profile conferences, shows, festivals and events and is a specialist in school and education photography, property and 360 virtual tours.
For over a decade he has been the official photographer at the spring and autumn Harrogate Flower Shows, regarded as two of the most prestigious national flower shows in the gardening calendar.
He has been the official photographer at a wide range of events and shows including the Harrogate Bridal Show, Harrogate Fashion Week, the BBC Good Food Show, the Harrogate Nursery Fair, Harrogate Christmas and Gift Fair and has covered professional conferences throughout the UK.
Drawing on years of experience shooting educational commissions for titles such as the Times Educational Supplement, Times Higher Education, The Guardian and Nursery World, Sam specialises in school prospectus and education photography.
Schools are busy and vibrant environments and he is able to work quickly and creatively to get the best out of the pupils and keep the shoot on schedule. He has worked with nursery-age pupils through to higher education in both private and state schools.
Property photography has taken Sam into multi-million pound homes from urban apartments and town houses through to country estates.
In addition to photography Sam offers 3D virtual tours using a state-of-the-art Matterport Pro2 camera. 3D tours will be of interest to anyone looking to market their property or business to as wide an audience as possible.
Recently, Sam worked with secondary schools who have used the 3D tour when open evenings were not possible during the Coronavirus restrictions.
Lastly, Sam has covered the Church of England General Synod in York for the Church Times newspaper for more than twenty years.
With more than thirty years experience in editorial photography Sam has worked in all sorts of locations with all sorts of people. He is able to work to a brief, deliver on a tight schedule and most importantly produce eye catching images that ‘tell the story.’
